The summer school "Economics of sports@sports management" has started its work in the Center of rowing sports today, which the Volga region Academy of sports and tourism together with the German University of Friedrich Schiller holds for the second time.
30 participants of the school – students, undergraduates and graduate students of the country's universities represent 27 Russian cities. The rector of the University Yusup Yakubov spoke about the expansion of geography and the increased popularity of the school at the opening:
- Last year's experience of the school was very useful for us. Only four of the participants here are of the Volga region Academy. The rest came from different parts of the country, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. I think this will allow the audience to share the experience of their regions and make two weeks in Kazan particularly interesting. Comparing is always useful, especially being in a professional environment. Sport today is a business, a whole sphere of the economy, so a sports Manager must be qualified, competent and competitive. Sports infrastructure is developing rapidly in Russia, children, adults and people of retirement age are actively involved in sports. Much attention is paid to the commercial sector. I am sure that the knowledge you have gained will be in demand.
A visual illustration of the words of the rector was a tour of the center of rowing, where this year the school is held. Some of the students were accommodated in the hotel of the center "Regate". The curator of the project, Vice-rector for educational work of the Volga region Academy Almaz Galimov, introduced the participants of the school and other features of the object.
In the curriculum of the first day of the lecture Professor Frank Daumann, head of the Department of sports Economics at the University of Friedrich Schiller, doctor of Economics and author of the MBA program. The Professor, by the way, immediately intrigued the audience, promising that in addition to the classical analysis of sports markets, the economy of sports leagues, management of sports organizations and the economy of doping, he will talk about sports betting. So, ahead of the audience a lot of professional discoveries and pleasant surprises from the organizers and speakers.
