Kazan said goodbye to Vladimir Jitlov, honored coach of the RSFSR and the USSR in fencing, an honorary citizen of Kazan. Vladimir Vasilyevich created a unique school of fencing. For many years she remained the leader of international competitions. Natives of the sports club "Dynamo" under the guidance of a famous coach for decades brought the country medals. Under his leadership in 1976 in Montreal took place the triumphal performance of the rapiers from Kazan — famous fencers Valentina Nikonova, naili Gilazova and Olga Knyazeva. Pupils of the school for decades became permanent members of the national teams of the USSR and Russia. Due to the outstanding coach of his sports success was also achieved by other well-known Tatarstan fencers: master of sports of the international class, participant of the Olympic games Olga Lomakina, the master of sports of Samila Galeeva, Gumer Safin, Rafael Dubin. Vladimir Vasilyevich began to be engaged in trainer's work since 1966. He coached the women's national team of the USSR in fencing at the Olympic games in 1976 and 1980. In total, he worked as a coach of the national team from 1973 to 1990. Later he continued to train juniors, headed the Kazan children's and youth sports school №3.

Its result will be hard to repeat. Vladimir Vasilevich always very good attitude to the Academy. He responded to all our invitations. Willingly participated in meetings with students, was the guest of honor of the Day of knowledge. He was interested in how the University develops. At the same time, he always had his opinion on important issues. I spoke frankly about what I thought about the training of coaches. It was evident that people are not indifferent, sincerely worried about the development of sports in Tatarstan. This is a huge, irreparable loss.
