From 19 to 21 April at one of the facilities of the Volga region Academy, in the Palace of water sports, will be held simultaneously two synchronized swimming tournament – the championship of Russia and the world series FINA.
The championship of Russia Kazan takes for the fourth time, but the stage of the World series of synchronized swimming will be held in the capital of Tatarstan for the first time. Earlier competitions were held in Paris and Greek Alexandroupolis. After Kazan the series will move to Tokyo, in may the best synchronists of the world will perform in Beijing, American Greensboro and Quebec. The final stage will take Barcelona. The best teams on the sum of stages in each discipline will perform in the super Final.
The three-day program of competitions includes performances of groups (technical and arbitrary programs), solo (technical and arbitrary programs), duets, mixed duets (technical and arbitrary programs), combined program and acrobatic group.
Undoubtedly, one of the most significant events of the tournament will be the return of five-time Olympic champion, post-graduate student of the Volga region Academy Svetlana Romashina. Stage of the World series FINA will be her first official start after the birth of a child. Romashina in Kazan will perform in a duet with the champion of the Games-2016 Svetlana Kolesnichenko in technical and arbitrary programs.
In parallel with the international in the Palace of water sports will compete and the best domestic synchronizers.  Tatarstan will present in the championship of Russia two teams in the compositions which will perform and students of Volga Academy. In the first part of four of them: freshman Olesya Arkhipova and Regina Asgarova and student 4-year student Tatyana Mitrofanova Ekaterina Ermakova. In the second team of RT "academicians"-six synchronized swimmers. This freshman Diana Kichaeva, Ekaterina Efremova, Zuhra Mavlyutova, Veronica Lukyanova, Regina Ustyuzhanina and Alenat Godin. Another student of the Academy Anastasia Kislyakova will perform at the championship as part of the national team of the Republic of Udmurtia.
In addition, according to associate Professor of the Department of theory and methodology of water sports Elena Zolotova, during the competition in the Palace of water sports will be held coaching and refereeing seminar in English. This seminar will also be attended by students of the Academy who have completed their sports career.
