At the XXIX world winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, the Academy was represented not only by athletes, but also by seven volunteers from three faculties of the University. Returning from the capital of the winter games 2019, they met with the rector of the Volga region Academy Yusup Yakubov at the Universiade Museum. Seven brave girls - Maria Vorobyova, Diana Lemeshev, Alina Mishkin, Olga Komarova, Ekaterina Shubina, Anna Kondakova and Anna Belyaeva told the rector about their volunteer duties and adventures (without them can not do any holiday, especially the student). All the girls have already had volunteer experience, participated in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2018 FIFA world Cup.
"I worked at the awards ceremonies, explained to the athletes where they need to stand to make the TV picture look better," Diana Lemesheva shared with the rector. - I expected to practice English at these international competitions, but... very often the Russians won ... I was pleased that all volunteers know Kazan, because our student games were held at a high level. Kazan volunteers are always happy to see".
The rector also shared his impressions about the trip to Krasnoyarsk with the students. "The winter Universiade was a success," said the rector of the Academy. - During the time that I was there, I managed to meet with two of our athletes who distinguished themselves at the games – Yana Kirpichenko and Yegor Kazarinov. I am glad that the Academy was represented at the Universiade not only by athletes, but also by those who helped the organizer to make the Universiade a memorable event and a student sports festival. I am sure that the experience you have gained is invaluable."
