Acting head of the Department of theory and methods of gymnastics, associate Professor Lyubov Botova became a participant of the meeting held in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva and dedicated to the development of figure skating in the region. Heads of the Executive committees of the municipalities of the Republic were in touch by videoconference. The representative of the Volga region Academy told the participants about the training of figure skating coaches.
- The main reason for the conversation, the decline in sports results, which led to a number of factors. First of all, it is the lack of ice. Most ice arenas have a priority given to hockey players, and ice skaters is allocated on a residual basis. There is also the personnel issue. Specialization is open in the Volga region Academy in 2017. Future figure skating coaches study at the Department of theory and methods of gymnastics, which combines complex coordination sports. Training sessions are held at all sports facilities of the Academy, and 8 specialized disciplines in figure skating are implemented on the basis of the ice Palace "Zilant". This makes it possible to combine basic training with practical classes on ice. Here students get their first coaching experience. Although the first graduation of figure skating coaches will take place in 2021, the University is already actively contributing to the solution of the problem and is ready to regularly conduct training courses for coaches of the Republic with the participation of leading domestic specialists.
- Specialization studies 21. 7 enrolled in senior courses of the other specializations. 20 of them represent Tatarstan (Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Mamadysh, Aznakaevo, Zainsk, Agryz). By the time we graduate in 2021, we will have about 50 students enrolled in four courses. Every year it is planned to produce 12-15 specialists in figure skating. This year 5 students will complete bachelor's and master's programs. Three of them are bronze winners of the world winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk. Today, they can replenish the staff of coaches of sports schools of Kazan and the Republic. But for this, of course, schools must have staff units. Young professionals, especially in the districts, need to create conditions for life and work. All these topics are discussed by students and representatives of the University at meetings with the administrations of municipal districts of the Republic, which are regularly held at the Academy. In addition, 9 students-skaters studying at the University today represent the Vladimir, Samara region, Perm region and the Republic of Mari-El. That is, we are preparing coaches for other regions.
I also told that the Academy works not only for the future of figure skating, preparing coaches, but in cooperation with the federations helps current athletes and coaches to achieve good results now. The Academy-based training and research center of sports reserve training technologies provides medical and biological support for long-term training of athletes. In General, it is important that the conversation took place. Pain points are defined, problems are not hidden, not retouched, which means that there is hope that they will be solved…
