Today, the semi-final tournament of the super League of the Association of student basketball (ASB) among women's teams started in the gym of the educational and laboratory building. In the first match of the hostess, the national team of the Academy, defeated the team of Lesgaft NSU (national University of physical culture, sports and health named after p. F. Lesgaft) with a score of 81:52.
To achieve such an impressive result, the students of the Academy probably helped the rector's parting words in his welcoming speech to the participants who said that the University is very happy to host this tournament. Especially Yusup Yakubov noted the fact that the first rivals of the Academy team in Kazan were representatives of the "related" profile University. The Academy team in the semifinal will have to play with two representatives of the zone " West "-the teams of the Ivanovo state University of chemistry and technology (ihtu), which completed the" regular " in the first place, and the Chuvash state University (ChSU-Atlanta) – the third team.
By the way, the ihtu team will take the "final eight" super League. Six participants of the semi-final stage, which started in Kazan, booked a ticket to Ivanovo (two finalists will be determined in the rivalry of the teams that took in their zones from 5 to 8 places).
But the results of the semifinal matches are of great importance for them, as the results of the tournament will determine the placement of teams in the standings and quarterfinal pairs of the decisive tournament in Ivanovo.  At the moment, the Academy team takes the second place (behind rivals in the zone "East", Perm KOR PK only on the difference of goals), and therefore for the semifinal finals will compete with the 7th team.
