Stele countdown to the 45th world championship in working professions WorldSkills-2019 opened in Kazan on Bauman street. The clock mechanism was launched by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and President of WorldSkills International Simon Bartley. The procedure was observed by students of the Volga Academy. The University was presented at the ceremony by students of all faculties.
"The Russian government and our country pay great attention to working professions. Holding this championship is another opportunity to prove yourself, to choose a profession. I hope that the championship will become a guiding star in the lives of young people," the press service of the Tatarstan President's office quotes Tatyana Golikova.
The head of the Republic, in turn, shared his expectations from the upcoming large-scale event, during which thousands of guests from different parts of the world will come to the capital of Tatarstan once again.
"We must meet them with dignity, show our hospitality and traditions," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
About 1.6 thousand contestants from more than 60 countries of the world will take part in the WorldSkills Competition in Kazan, which will compete in 56 competencies.
That is why Simon Bartley in his address to the audience on Bauman street Kazan especially noted that WorldSkills is able to change the lives of a large number of young people through their acquired skills.
By the way, another recognizable participant of the ceremony was the famous chef and TV and radio host Konstantin Ivlev, presented as the Ambassador of the championship.
