3rd year student of the Volga region Academy, international grandmaster Vladislav Artemyev won the European blitz championship in Skopje (Macedonia). According to TASS, more than 300 players fought for the victory in this tournament, which consisted of 12 double rounds. Artemyev scored 18.5 points out of 22 possible.
In October in Sochi Vladislav became the winner of the team championship of Russia in rapid chess, the champion of Russia in rapid and blitz chess in the individual competition.
