The traditional annual meeting of the rector of the Volga sports Academy Yusup Yakubov with representatives of sports federations of Tatarstan was held at the University on the eve of the start of the next admission campaign. "Today, 40% of the Academy's students represent 72 regions of Russia," Yusup Yakubov commented on the situation. – We are interested in increasing the number of students from outside the country and plan to increase the share of students from other regions to 50%. It is important not to reduce the quality of students who come to us to study and speak for the Academy. In search of promising guys, you are our main allies, " the rector addressed the representatives of 19 sports federations sitting in the hall. This thesis is confirmed by the sports qualification received Only this year by the students of the Academy were: two honored masters of sports-Ivan Pakin and Alexander Krasnykh, as well as seven masters of sports of international class, 86 masters of sports and 152 candidates for master.
Volga region Academy this year reached its design capacity, gaining more than 1,000 students. Now this figure will be set for the University annually. At the same time, almost 80% of places for students remain budgetary. By 2020, according to the concept of development of the Academy, 4 thousand students will study here. According to Yusup Yakubov, more recruitment will not increase, the emphasis will be on the quality of education.
Even today, the Volga region Academy has become a basic University not only for Tatarstan, but also for 7 neighboring regions of Russia. Vocational guidance work is carried out by the departments of the University together with the federations at all Russian and international competitions held in Kazan, where the "cream" of domestic sports of different ages is collected.
In addition, the Volga region Academy is expanding the range of training areas that can be of interest not only to existing, but also to athletes who have completed their careers. In addition to increasing the number of sports for training coaching (now they are in high school 19 – approx.ed.), the master's program of the Academy from next year opens three new areas-functional diagnostics, sports Analytics and fitness.
More than 500 potential applicants have already expressed their desire to enter the Academy this year. The next open Day at the Volga region Academy of sports and tourism will be held on January 26, 2019.
