Following tennis players and chess players, swimmers and badminton players brought victory points in the finals of the all-Russian summer Universiade 2018 of the Volga region Academy, representing Tatarstan at the main student starts of the country. Both our teams became Champions of the student games.
The final of the badminton Universiade was held in Saratov. Our team, under the guidance of a teacher of the Department of theory and methods of tennis and badminton Alfred Samigullina went to the tournament, composed of: Michael Gelashvili, Julia Mrs., Alexander'kin, Alina Romanko, Alexander Semenov Anatoliy Yartsev. Having confidently defeated all the opponents on the way to the final, academicians beat the team of Lobachevsky state University of Nizhny Novgorod in the decisive final match (3:0).
Swimmers, we recall, competed in Omsk. Our team for the third time in a row rose to the highest step of the podium, winning 13 medals. Of them 2 gold. And both on account of the second-year student of the faculty of sports Alexei Merzlyakov, who showed the best result at distances of 50 and 100 meters freestyle. In addition, the team of the Volga region Academy has 6 silver and 5 bronze medals. Nikita Korolev was the third in the 50 meters freestyle and butterfly. Olesya Korchagina silver in the 50m freestyle and a bronze in the 50m butterfly. Daria Golovina was the third on 50 and 100 meters breaststroke. And finally, the team of the Volga region Academy became the silver medalist in five relays: 50 and 100 meters freestyle for men and women and in the combined 4X100.
The main competitors of our team, swimmers of the far Eastern Federal University also won 13 medals, five of which are gold. But "academicians" came in first place on the sum of 30 best results according to the table of FINA points.
Not remained without medals "academics" and in fencing. In Belgorod, where the final tournament in this sport, the Volga Academy sent a Quartet of reports. A third-year student of the faculty of service and tourism Adela Abdrakhmanova became a silver medalist in the individual form of the program.
