Students of Volga Academy of sport and tourism, Nikita Schleicher and Alexander Belevtsev became the silver medalists of the world Cup jumping in the water in Wuhan, China. In synchronous jumps from the 10-meter tower, Schleicher and Belevtsev showed the second result (427,20 points), losing only to the Chinese pair Yang Hao / Chen Aisen (491,73).
Having won the silver medal in Wuhan, Nikita Schleicher continued a series of successful performances at major international tournaments. A month earlier he won the Kazan stage of World series in diving paired with Julia Timoshenko, and at an earlier stage in Montreal this pair won bronze.
At the world Cup medals are played in 11 disciplines. This tournament is held every two years. At the last, in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, the Russians did not win a single medal. The current world Cup is held on the eve of the European aquatics championship, which starts in August in Glasgow.
