At the meeting of The academic Council held on Thursday in the Volga region Academy was an important event for our University. At the beginning of the meeting, the rector of the Academy Yusup Yakubov presented a certificate of associate Professor to the acting Department of medical and biological disciplines Andrey Nazarenko. A little later, the Council unanimously elected Andrei Sergeyevich head of the Department.
Recall that the candidate of biological Sciences Andrei Nazarenko heads the Department of medical and biological disciplines in the status of acting for the last three years after the transfer of authority from his supervisor, Professor Abdulahat Chinkin. As Yusup Digansheevich said yesterday, during this time he has established himself as an energetic young scientist, on whom the Academy has high hopes.
Vice-rector for academic Affairs Almaz Galimov told the members of the Academic Council that at the meeting of the Department held on may 3, Andrey Nazarenko presented a report on the work done and the program of development of the Department for the coming years, following the discussion of which, the decision on his nomination was adopted unanimously. Especially Diamond Mirzakulova noted the fact that to date, Andriy Nazarenko - one of the teachers of the University, whose textbooks marked FUMO (Federal educational organizations). Representing the candidate, the Secretary of the Academic Council said that over the past five years Nazarenko has prepared 9 textbooks and published 82 scientific works, 30 of which are published in leading peer-reviewed journals.
The candidate in his address to the Scientific Council said that as head of the Department intends to equip all classrooms with appropriate equipment, making them specialized in the disciplines of physiology, anatomy, etc.
- We want to create a medical and biological unit, where students would receive the maximum amount of knowledge in our disciplines…
The second item of the program was the opening of the master's degree in the direction of medical and biological support of sports of the highest achievements:
- We plan that we will have 15-20 budget places. We still think that it will be written in their diplomas in the column profile. But we want our graduates to be coaches who know how to conduct the training process in terms of physiology, biochemistry, sports medicine and all innovations in this field.  
Another important area of the Department's work, from the point of view of its new head, is the expansion of cooperation with the scientific laboratory of the Academy and other Russian universities:
- We should carry out as much joint research as possible, create scientific groups with the participation of athletes, and use the data obtained in the preparation of publications. In General, if we talk about scientific activities, we do not intend to reduce the speed, but to improve the quality of the created textbooks…
The rector, after the Scientific Council unanimously elected Nazarenko as the head of the Department, supported the newly-appointed head in his plans, noting that the main task is not so much to equip it with equipment, as the maximum integration with all departments of the Academy:
- We congratulate Andrei Sergeyevich on his election to the post, we wish him success, we hope that the Department of medical and biological disciplines will become the leading one in the University. The main thing is that you do not become a closed system. Only joint, joint efforts will yield results.
After the meeting of the Academic Council, Andrey Nazarenko, by the way, candidate for master of sports in badminton, shared his emotions:
- Of course, I am glad, I am grateful to my colleagues for their trust, and I am very excited. After all, I have a great responsibility. But it is a great honor and a chance to realize their greatest professional dreams. After all, the physiology of sports, the processes of adaptation of all systems of the body under the influence of loads in different sports, medical and biological support of athletes, in which their results are growing-all these are the most promising, relevant today directions in sports science. It is necessary that the best specialists in the field of physical culture and sports come out of the walls of our University.
