Held in Povolzhskaya Academy of the reporting-elective conference of Federation of ski races of Russia, the President of Federation of ski races and biathlon Ilshat Fardiev was elected Vice-President FLGR. We asked Ilshat Shaekhovich to talk about the cooperation of the Republican Federation with the University. 
- Ilshat shaekhovich, how do you assess the level of interaction between the Federation and the Academy?
- Working environment. Many teachers of the Academy work in our expert Council, headed by the head coach of the University team Igor Savosin. And the backbone of our team today is the students of the Volga region Academy. So, we can say that the University has great support. The rector his deputies love our sport, rejoice to our victories. Tatarstan athletes always participate in student competitions at all levels.
- But surely you expect more from cooperation?
- We must start from the place we occupy today in Russia in ski racing. I think that the relations between the Volga region Academy and the national team should be considered separately, and it is time to take them to a new level. We need to sit down together, think about everything, create a working group with the participation of the best students-skiers of the Volga region Academy, which brings up for us athletes-leaders. Who they will be next is a matter of training coaches. And we are even more interested in this than the Academy. This should be our initiative. The experience that the Academy staff have can help us in certain sports elements, which we lack today: how to finish, how to work on the rises…   
- Not everyone manages to reach the Olympic heights, but having received higher education, many will be able to find themselves in life after the sport…
- It also depends on how hard the Federation will work throughout the country, its field offices. The more mass, the character gains the interest of people to the sport, the more likely to go guys, which are prepared by the Academy to work in the regions.  We have an example of Anton Lavrentyev, who returned to his native Menzelinsk and works there created a base. We are trying to build a vertical, with the creation of branches of federations in the field, to strengthen the work of youth schools. And here training of trainers is very important. Moreover, the leadership of the Republic supports coaches in terms of material resources and housing.
