In Ramenskoye from 21 to 25 may were held all-Russian competitions among students in sports (Greco-Roman) wrestling. The tournament was a qualifying for the Russian championship in August and the world championship among students, which will be held in early September in Brazil. The team of the Volga region Academy returns from the tournament with bronze awards in the team competition.
The tournament was attended by teams of 25 universities, medals were played in 10 weight categories. 13 wrestlers took part in competitions as a part of the national team of the Volga region Academy. The asset of the "academicians"at the end of the start one gold medal, two silver and one bronze. The winner of tournament became Nikolay Suvorov (weight category to 72 kilograms), silver on the account of Ravshan Rustamov (to 60 kg) and Maria Podkina (to 65 kg, free-style wrestling), "bronze" was won by Oleg Klinov (to 97 kg).
As reported by the coach of that team, a teacher of the Department of theory and methods of gymnastics and wrestling, for a group of Mugalimov, Nikolai Suvorov on the rights of the winner of the competition in Moscow in August to take part in the championship of Russia, and in September will travel to Brazil at the student world Cup, Ravshan Rustamov and Mary Podkina will perform at the championship of Russia.
