May 25 in Penza starts all-Russian competitions among students in gymnastics-the main University starts of the season for representatives of this sport. The Volga region Academy delegates to these competitions only the women's team, in the competition of men from the University will perform undergraduate Muhammad Suleymanov.
Last year in Penza (the tournament is traditionally held in this city)the men's team of the Academy took the third place, the women's team – the second.  Send to Penza men's team this time did not work, as two of our leading gymnasts Maxim Sinichkin and Alexander Chicherov as part of the Russian national team are sent to the recovery camp in Spain. The coaching staff of our national team took advantage of the fact that a short break was formed in the tight schedule of tournaments at the end of may.
At the end of April, Chicherov and Sinichkin performed in Kazan at the Russian championship, then presented the Academy in the personal championship and championship of RT. This tournament was preparatory for the women's team of the University before the trip to Penza, and for our leading gymnasts – before the final of the all-Russian youth sports day. Chicherov and was successfully performed in the championship of RT in the individual, Alexander won the competition on the bar, Maxim on the rings. The girls the absolute championship was won by a student at the Academy Elina Kalygulova third place in the all-around took Catherine Prince.
In the final of the youth Games of Russia Chicherov became the absolute winner of the tournament in the individual competition. As a part of RT national team-the silver prize-winner.
