The All-Russian swimming competition Mad Wave Classic was held at the Aquatics Palace from 18 to 19 February. The tournament was opened by Rafis Burganov, Rector of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism. A total of 756 athletes, including 436 boys and 320 girls from 33 regions of Russia, took part in the competition.
The panel of judges comprised 29 students of Volga Region University, as well as members of the university's national team, including Ekaterina Maysheva and Alisa Bondarenko.
"I would like to acknowledge the professionalism of all the students who took part in the judging of these competitions. It was especially pleasing to see that the first-year students were able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills in this field straight away, having joined in," said Peter Mikhailov, chairman of the referee league.
