Athletes from the United Arab Emirates undergo a medical examination at the medical and sanitary unit of the Research Institute of Volga University.
The first to be examined were representatives of the Sheikh Zayed Higher Organisation for People with Hearing and Speech Impairments - the swimming team for people with hearing and speech impairments. Next, members of the Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club are scheduled to be examined, and the last will be the athletes of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women's Sports Academy.
The 45 athletes are undergoing body composition screening, electrocardiography, general blood tests and counselling from a sports doctor
‘We knew about the medical and sanitary centre of the Volga Region University because earlier representatives of our team came to Kazan for sports training camps. We can recommend this centre to athletes from other countries, as we can undergo useful procedures here. We are preparing for the competitions to be held in the near future, so we hold not only training camps, but also medical examinations,’ said Abdulla Saeed Alkaabi, coach of the UAE national swimming team.
