The Rowing Centre is a unique facility that combines construction and landscape architecture solutions. A sports complex, grandstands, a referee tower and a 2,000-metre rowing course: the Rowing Centre in Kazan is the only modern sports facility in Russia that meets the requirements of the International Canoe Federation and the International Rowing Federation. It hosted the 2015 FINA World Championships, the 5th World University Canoe Sprint and Rowing Championships, and the Russian Rowing Championships for persons with disabilities.
The Rowing Centre is located on the shore of Lake Sredny Kaban, twenty minutes from the airport and fifteen minutes from the city centre. On the territory of the facility, the total area of which is 17 hectares, there is also a hotel "Regata", the Centre for Rehabilitation Medicine. A large part of the facility, in addition to the rowing course and buildings, is occupied by an extensive green open-air zone available for organising team-building events, children's parties and spartakiads.
