The rowers of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism won a whole scattering of medals at the Russian Championship.
Last weekend, a series of starts in kayaking and canoeing and Dragon boats ended on the Moscow rowing channel "Krylatskoye". Artem Korovin, a second-year student, was pleased with his set of awards. On the second day of the competition, he won a silver medal as part of the four-kayak team. Later, Artem rose again to the second step of the podium, but already in the deuce. He got another medal - a bronze one, as part of the two-mix.
Then the athletes competed at the Dragon Boat Rowing Championship. First- and second-year students Alexander Galliulin and Matvey Makhnev as part of the Alga crew won the bronze medal in a hard fight at the sprint distance of 200 meters. Rasul Ishmukhamedov, a graduate of the University, who performed as part of the Caspian crew, also rose to the third step of the podium.
