Institute of Physical Education of FSBEI HE "Volga Region GUFKSiT" is an educational and scientific structural subdivision of the University, implementing educational programmes of higher education.
The Institute was established on 24 June 2021 by the decision of the Academic Council of FSBEI HE "Volga Region GUFKSiT" on the basis of the Faculty of Physical Education (year of foundation - 2014).
Currently, the Institute is headed by Associate Professor Iskander Galeev, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
The Institute unites 6 departments, including: Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Culture and Sport, Department of Economics and Management in Sport, Department of Adaptive Physical Culture and Life Safety, Department of Pedagogy and Psychology in Physical Culture and Sport, Department of Medical and Biological Disciplines, Department of Physical Culture.
The Institute implements a comprehensive system of training specialists in the field of physical culture and sport, which includes various areas of training of bachelors, masters, as well as the training of personnel of higher qualification in postgraduate studies.
Professional training within the framework of Bachelor's degree programmes includes providing students with special knowledge in the field of physical education and sport, pedagogy and psychology of physical education and sport, adaptive physical education, recreational technologies, management system and economics of sport.
Bachelor's degree programmes are aimed not only at in-depth mastering of academic disciplines, but also at research support of the educational process, as well as at the formation of students' teamwork skills, including leadership skills, at developing the ability to correctly set goals and find adequate and effective means of achieving them.
After successful completion of the state final certification, graduates receive a diploma of the University on completion of postgraduate studies.
An integral part of the educational process in all areas of training is practice, during which students acquire skills of practical work in the chosen profession, develop skills of organisational activity, master the experience of teamwork. Students of the Institute undergo practical training in: secondary educational schools, in centres of additional education, children's youth sports schools and other institutions of physical culture and sports profile.
The Institute offers preparatory courses for 11th grade students. Training at preparatory courses gives an opportunity to prepare in more depth for the USE in the subject "Biology". Every year, the vast majority of course graduates enter the University, as well as other specialised universities.
Graduates of the Institute are in demand and work in all spheres of the industry as sports coaches (sports schools, sports clubs, children's and youth sports clubs, national teams); physical education teachers of secondary schools; organisers and managers in the field of physical education and sports (directors of sports schools, employees of sports committees, sports federations), etc. The Institute has close ties with employers and the business community regarding internships and internships.
The Institute maintains close links with employers and the business community on the issues of internships and traineeships. In order to attract foreign citizens to study, effective co-operation with the Assembly of Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan has been established. Partnership relations have been established and joint projects are being implemented with national autonomies in the republic.

- Master's student of the department of TIMFKiS Artemiev Vladislav - Grandmaster, winner of the online Olympiad, team world championship in the Russian national chess team, a member of the Russian national team;
- Maria Temnikova - Master of Sport International Class in Swimming, European Champion, Russian Champion, member of the Russian National Team;
- Pakhomov Daniil, a master of sports in swimming, four-time champion of the first European Games, champion of Russia, member of the Russian national team;
- Gennady Mamkin, a student of the Department of Economics and Management in Sport, is a Master of Sport, a member of the Russian national team in bench shooting; he won a silver medal at the World Cup in bench shooting in Italy;
- student of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Physical Education and Sport Khadarin Vladislav is a Russian snowboarder, member of the Russian national team, Master of Sport of Russia; winner of the World Cup stage, silver medallist of the Winter Youth Olympic Games;
- Grigory Tarasevich, Master of Sport Economics and Management Department, Merited Master of Sport in backstroke swimming, Champion of the Summer Universiade in Naples.
The Institute actively develops student life: competitions in various sports (volleyball, basketball, football, swimming, etc.), sports and recreational activities are organised.
The Institute is proud of its graduates who have made a great contribution to the development of physical culture and sport.
Kosetskaya Evgeniya is a master of sports of international class in badminton, 6 times champion of Russia, 4 times winner of the Cup of Russia, silver medallist of the Personal European Championship, bronze medallist of the European Championship among women teams, bronze medallist of the European Championship among mixed teams, silver medallist of the I European Games, winner and medallist of international competitions in Russia, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, etc.
Batyrshina Zilya is a master of sports in bench shooting, multiple winner and medallist of international competitions, participant of the XXXII Olympic Games, member of the Russian national team.
Victoria Plastinina is the winner of the grant competition "Fifty Best Innovative Ideas for the Republic of Tatarstan", 16 winners and prize-winners of the ENACTUS International Competition of Socially Oriented Projects.
In its activities, the Institute is oriented towards meeting the personnel demands of the economy, science and society and modern requirements to the practical application of professional knowledge and skills.
