From July 1 to July 4, Kazan will again become a venue for large-scale sports competitions. More than 350 athletes from all regions of the country will take part in the Russian Rowing Cup. The four-day competition will be held on the territory of one of the facilities of the Volga Region University of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism - in the Center of Rowing Sports. 

Within the framework of the Cup of Russia, national teams will be selected to participate in the I All-Russian Spartakiad in summer sports.

"The Spartakiad itself will be held in August, and the program will be closer to the program of the 2024 Olympic Games. This will be the main start of the season for our athletes," Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin said at a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the Spartakiad.

The Russian Cup will be attended by silver medalists of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Anna Prakaten and Elena Oryabinskaya, as well as the finalist of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, World rowing champion Alexander Vyazovkin.
