The Volga Region University and the University of Talents have launched year-round medical and biological support for promising athletes, as well as children who are just about to receive a specialized sports education. These studies are carried out in a joint laboratory of universities on the basis of the National Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports at the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Athletes from the Rubin Football Academy, participants of the profile programs of the Republican Center for Identifying and Supporting Gifted Children and Youth in the Republic of Tatarstan, were among the first to undergo medical and biological research, based on the model of the Sirius Educational Center, which operates on the basis of the University of Talents. In addition to football players, research was also carried out for the youth team of the Republic of Tatarstan in cross-country skiing (older age group), which are also participants in specialized programs. On the basis of the received data of athletes, the training process is built directly. And in the near future, work is planned in the laboratory to accompany promising athletes in volleyball and other sports.

The results of such studies help coaches to select athletes, control the level of their general and special training, adjust the training process to further improve the results, observing them in dynamics.

The list of studies is long: this includes the determination of body composition, physical performance and the level of training of an athlete, as well as genetic diagnostics to determine endurance.

Thanks to these studies, sports doctors and physiologists determine the level of performance of young athletes, the degree of their adaptation to various loads, the reaction of the cardiovascular system to a load of maximum power.

Research helps not only to reveal the potential of athletes, but also monitors their functional state and reveals early signs of overtraining and chronic overexertion.
