Volga Region University, as part of the international economic forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum”, traditionally hosts foreign delegations. This time the guests were representatives of the Special Olympics of Kuwait - of particular interest to them are the conditions created for people with disabilities, including in higher educational institutions.
As part of the delegation, the university was visited by the national director of the Special Olympics of Kuwait, Rehab Muhammad Sultan Muhammad Boresli, the chairman of the board of Hanaa Abdurrahman Muhammad Alzewawi, as well as the director of sports and training, Mustafa Saeed Abdelfatah Abdalla Hassuna. The guests were accompanied by a graduate of the Volga Region University, director of the Kazan International Institute for Cooperation with the Countries of Africa and the Middle East, Fisal Hassan.
During the tour, Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities Andrey Nazarenko introduced the delegates to the infrastructure of the university as a whole, and Larisa Parfenova, Head of the Adaptive Physical Education Department, told about the opportunities for adaptive sports and showed the guests specialised halls. The delegation also visited a floorball training session, the active development of which became possible at Volga Region University with the support of specialists from the specialised department. The visit ended with a discussion of plans for co-operation and exchange of experience - the possibility of holding training camps and training seminars for parents of children with disabilities was considered.
