Volga Region University rugby players on the podium of the All-Russian tournament

The All-Russian snow rugby competition among students was held recently on the field of KAI-Olympus Rugby Club. The tournament was attended by 16 teams from 9 regions of the country. 
This year's competition was dedicated to the memory of Sergey Mikhailov, Vice-Rector of KNITU-KAI, who was one of the founders of the rugby team in KAI, in his time he played in the student team "Burevestnik", which played in the championship of the Soviet Union.

In the men's tournament the victory was celebrated by the rugby players of the University of Sport and Tourism. In the final they defeated the team of Kazan aviators with the score 5:3. The third place went to the team of Perm State National Research University.

In the women's championship the students of the Volga Region University won the silver medal, losing in the decisive match with the score 1:5 to the athletes from the Dagestan State Pedagogical University. Bronze medals went to the representatives of Kazan State Medical University.
