The Volga Region University team continues to compete in the Russian background walking championship - the All-Russian project “Man Walking”. The honor of the university is defended by 22 people, including employees, teachers and students of the university.

This year, the core of the team was made up of teachers, students and graduate students of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Culture and Sports.
According to the conditions of the championship, participants must take as many steps as possible during the day. Thanks to a special application in the smartphone, all steps are taken into account - walking to work or running. Team ratings are updated every day based on the total steps taken by the entire team.

“We are currently in third place. Our main struggle was with the team of the educational institution from Kemerovo. We need to maintain a high pace until November 16th. This time, 306 teams from all over the country are participating in the competition, says Kristina Nizamutdinova, team captain, head of the real estate management department. — To successfully complete it, you need to maintain the set pace - about 460 thousand steps per day for the entire team, for each participant this is about 21 thousand steps daily. This is a serious test, especially in rainy weather. I believe in our team, I thank each of the participants for their will, and I believe that we will withstand such a load and make the final push.”

The project began to develop in 2019, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Sports within the framework of the Federal project “Sport is the norm of life.” Since then, the Volga Region University team takes part in it every year. And every year the final result was better than the previous one.
