The All-Russian Gymnastics Day was once again held at the Gymnastics Centre, one of the facilities of the Volga Region University. Athletes, teachers, coaches and veterans of gymnastics of the Republic of Tatarstan were invited to the event.

Rector of the Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism Rafis Burganov congratulated everyone present on the holiday.  
"Gymnastics is the most graceful, beautiful sport. I wish that our pupils carry the banner of our gymnastics proudly, with their heads held high, so that they succeed in their future careers. We are used to winning in everything. Let it be so in the future," Rafis Burganov wished the audience.

After the welcoming words the honouring of distinguished athletes, their coaches, teachers, as well as veterans of gymnastics took place. The awards were presented by the Rector of the University

In particular, the Director of the Institute of Sports of the Volga Region University, Professor Robert Bikmukhametov, Aida Nizamova, coach-teacher on choreography of the sports school of Olympic reserve of the physical culture and sports association "Idel", Sergey Veldyaev, senior lecturer of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Gymnastics of the Volga Region University of Sports, as well as the coach on artistic gymnastics Radik Kurmangalin for training the winner of the Cup of Russia and absolute champion of Russia Daniil Marinov were noted. 
Two teachers of the department of T&M gymnastics - Sofia Nadezhina and Almira Akhmetshina were congratulated on the birth of their children.

Besides, within the framework of the holiday there was a presentation of certificates of masters of sports of Russia in rhythmic gymnastics to four students of the University: Liana Khasanova, Alisa Chichneva, Renata Ziganshina and Alina Khismatullina.

The celebration continued with a bright and colourful programme, in which all areas of gymnastics were presented by students, teachers and pupils of sports schools of Kazan.

All-Russian Gymnastics Day is traditionally celebrated on the last Saturday of October. The All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and the Russian Gymnastics Federation came up with the initiative to introduce this date into the calendar. 
At Volga Region University the initiator of the festive event in 2013 was Lyubov Botova, Head of the Department of Gymnastics Theory and Methodology. Since then the celebrations have been held annually at the Gymnastics Centre.
