ТA traditional event for Volga Region University - Sports Manager Day - was held this year in a remote format on the Discord platform. The Department of Economics and Management in Sport, together with the students of sport management, included sports and educational parts in the programme.
The Sports Manager's Day started with a welcoming speech by Natalia Grechannikova. In her speech, the vice-rector for administration, social development and youth policy noted the importance of the event in conditions when students study remotely.
Rezeda Khadiullina also addressed the participants. "We were delighted to welcome sports management students to our Institute. Thank you to the organisers who were able to find such an unusual format for the event,’ the Director of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism thanked the students.
The sports part consisted of three games: Basket Boy Rush, Groovy Ski and Shkoda Hockey. During the educational programme there were 3 lectures. Albert Salikhov, Head of the Administration of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of Kazan, spoke about work opportunities in Kazan City Hall, Ruslan Timerkaev, Director of the Champion Sports School, shared his experience in sports management, and Anna Starodubtseva, a student of the Institute of Physical Culture, gave a master class on correct posture. The event ended with the traditional initiation of the first-year students of the profile direction into sports managers and solemn congratulations to the graduates.
The Sports Manager's Day united 97 students, who got both an opportunity to compete in games and get acquainted with sports management specialists.
