Today, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin inspected the sports facilities of Kazan as part of the International Multi-Sports Tournament “Future Games”.

The managers examined all the capabilities of the phygital center on the basis of the Volga Region University, discussed its work and new educational programs.
“We are at an important historical moment. Tomorrow the first Future Games in the history of mankind will open in Kazan. This is a completely new format of competition, which, according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is held in our country. But the phygital movement is already sweeping across the planet,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

He added that it is very symbolic that a new digital center was opened in Kazan through the joint efforts of the Russian Ministry of Sports and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

“The Department of Information Systems, Technologies and Cybersports, which will now become the Department of Phydital, will train specialists working on creating methodological standards for the development of an even more harmonious person. The guys here master, for example, tactical combat using computer programs developed in our country, and then practice it in real conditions using laser tag. Or they compete in a Russian football simulator, which is being developed with the support of Gazprom, and then show their skills on a real site. The combination of the physical and virtual worlds provides new advantages so that children can improve even faster and more dynamically,” noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.

“It’s nice that Volga State University has become one of the platforms for the development of physical sports. This is a look into the future. We are talking about the formation of a methodological, scientific basis for the development of a new direction, type of sport. Students have the opportunity to develop their sports skills in the phygital center, which, in turn, contributes to the formation of a harmonious personality. The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation is actively developing physical sports and providing the necessary conditions for the training and competitive process of athletes,” added Oleg Matytsin.

The Phygital Center is a sports ground that is a single space for practicing classical and digital sports. On the territory of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, all the necessary infrastructure has been created for training and tournaments in physical sports: a mini-football field, a streetball court and a workout area, as well as a digital space with a computer room, an area for game consoles and virtual reality. The Kazan center will become the flagship center in the federal ecosystem “My Fidgetal”.

Dmitry Chernyshenko and Oleg Matytsin inspected the facilities where fidget competitions will be held: the site in the IT park, where the World of Tanks tournament will be held, as well as the ice arena, where the fidget hockey tournament has already started. In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Sports toured the Ak Bars martial arts palace, the URAM extreme park, where competitions in fidgetal BMX and virtual cycling will be held, as well as the Kazan Tennis Academy, on the territory of which three disciplines of 3D tactical combat will be held , and a physical basketball court at Kazan Expo.
