A meeting with Major General, veteran of the Afghan War Rim Mustaev was held at Volga Region University as part of the Year of Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and was dedicated to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland.
Rim Mustaev is a graduate of the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Health, he told about his studies during his student days and his further military career.
- I am glad to meet with the students of the sports university today. You are people I care about, and I am your senior colleague. I had a dream of becoming a pilot, so I first enrolled in the Kachinsky flying school in Volgograd. But on the advice of the head of the military enlistment office, I switched to the military faculty of the Lesgaft Sports University. After graduating, I became the head of physical training and sports of a military unit,” Mustayev told the students of the Volga Rim about his choice of a place of study.
During his studies at the university, Rim Mustaev passed not only specialized military disciplines, but also sports disciplines, following the results of which it was necessary to pass a credit on the standards of the third category.
- 36 years ago, combat operations ended for the personnel of the Fortieth Combined Arms Army stationed on the territory of the Republic of Afghanistan. I am its representative and was deputy commander of the two hundred and first motorized rifle division. Even in wartime there was a place for sports and physical training. At the points of permanent deployment soldiers built sports camps: they ran cross-country races, did push-ups, swam. First of all, it is important to inspire others by example: “Do as I do,” Rim Mustaev emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, Major General Rim Mustaev and Iskander Galeyev, Director of the Institute of Physical Culture, awarded the winners of the paramilitary sports competition, which was held at the university as part of the February “Healthy Environment”. The winner was Almaz Zabirov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Culture, Almaz Misbakhov, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Culture and Sports, and German Fan-Young, Associate Professor of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, took the second place.
