Today in the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism was opened the wall “In Memory of Heroes”, which became a symbol of deep gratitude to the fighters - graduates and staff of the university, who gave their lives in defense of the Motherland during the Special Military Operation.
- The opening of the wall “In Memory of Heroes” is an important event, we must remember the exploits of our brave and courageous fighters who fulfilled their duty to the Motherland. They will live as long as the memory is alive in our hearts, - said the vice-rector for administrative work, social development and youth policy of the university Natalia Grechannikova.
- Everyone fulfills his duty where he is. Soldiers at the front should know that they have a reliable rear. Students of Volga Region University make a great contribution to the victory, supporting the fighters at the front and sending them humanitarian aid. As long as there are such brave guys as our graduates and employees, no one will bring Russia to its knees.
Marina Usova, the mother of the heroically killed graduate Dmitry Usov, addressed the students, university staff and relatives of the fighters.
- There are very few of us left - those who heard about the horrors of fascism from their relatives. Therefore, new generations must remember the history of Russia and pass it on, preserving the memory of heroes and their exploits. If the history is forgotten, then all the efforts that we make by the whole country, by the whole society, by whole families... the feats that these guys have done are worthless. Each of the fighters is a hero of our time, of whom we should be proud. Please do not forget our history, do not allow it to be distorted. Be proud of your Fatherland and praise your Motherland and our Russia with your sport victories, - emphasized Marina Usova, addressing the students of the university.
In the eternal memory of students, teachers, employees of Volga Region University heroes will remain alumni and staff Dmitry Usov, Artur Khismatullin, Airat Khusainov and Sergey Petrunin...
