The medical and sanitary part of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the Volga Region University did not stand aside during the BRICS Games - not only representatives of the Russian team, but also athletes from Belarus, Iran and other countries came here for rehabilitation and treatment procedures.

Not so long ago, medical equipment was updated in the medical and sanitary part of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. Specialists received innovative modern medical equipment, which allows them to carry out restorative, therapeutic, and rehabilitation measures not only for athletes, but also for people who have undergone operations, injuries and various diseases.

Currently, patients can receive laser therapy using a modern high-precision BTL device, treatment with a high-intensity magnet, hardware mechanotherapy for the development of various joints and other types of modern therapy. In addition, it became possible to receive general cryotherapy in a new generation cryocapsule. All treatments are carried out by qualified medical professionals.

"Working with athletes at high-level competitions is not the first time for many of our doctors. Our specialists assisted at the Universiade in 2013 and at the Aquatics Championships in 2015, and some were even present at the Sochi Olympics. Our doctors provided assistance to athletes at both the Future Games and the BRICS Games in 2024," Rustam Yakubov, Deputy Head of the Medical Unit of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, shared the results of their work. - Each sport should have a certain number of medical personnel. I was able to visit as a sports doctor at the canoeing competitions, as well as at the boxing tournament.

There was a medical station at the Rowing Centre where athletes could go at any time. There were also ambulance crews stationed at the boathouses and near the finish line. At boxing competitions, sports doctors were stationed as a mobile team in the "white corner" of the ring. However, it is important to note that there were no serious injuries requiring serious medical intervention".
