The Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Russian Football Union signed an agreement today on the margins of the Russia - Sporting Power forum.
The document was signed by Rector of the University Rafis Burganov and Secretary General of the Union Maxim Mitrofanov. Tatarstan's Sports Minister Vladimir Leonov took part in the signing ceremony.
The agreement envisages cooperation between the university and the Russian Football Union in order to develop and popularise football in the country and train qualified sports, coaching and refereeing personnel. In particular, it is planned to develop educational programmes of higher education, additional professional programmes and additional general education programmes in the field of football.
In addition, the plans include research and development activities and innovation and technological projects in the field of football.
There are also plans to hold joint conferences, meetings, grant competitions, forums. In addition, the development of volunteer activities in the field of football and the development of joint projects aimed at involving university students in the organisation of sporting events.
