The faculty of the Volga Region University passed the standards for disassembling/assembling a machine gun and shooting as part of the February "Healthy Environment". The passing of the standards was supervised by associate professors of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology in the field of physical education and sports Vadim Kachalov and Andrey Stepanov.

The teachers competed in three standards: partial disassembly/assembly of a Kalashnikov assault rifle, as well as shooting at targets in an electronic laser shooting range from a Makarov pistol and a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

- Today I shot at targets in an electronic laser shooting range for the first time. Although during my military service I gained experience in shooting from combat weapons. I think it is important to hold such events for teachers, as we remember what we learned and set a good example for students and colleagues, - shared a participant in the competition, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Education Almaz Zabirov.

The sports and paramilitary event is dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day, as part of the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. One of the organizers of the competition, Vadim Kachalov, noted that students pass these standards as part of the subject "Basic Military Training" and it was decided to involve teachers as well.
