Today, a meeting was held at Volga Region University to summarize the results of the project to implement a packaged solution, "Optimizing the Planning and Preparation Process for Receiving Swimming Pool Services at a Higher Education Institution." Improvements were implemented at the university's facilities: the Aquatics Palace and the Burevestnik swimming pool.
The initiative was implemented within a short timeframe—from late October to December—as part of the federal "Labor Productivity" project. The program aims to engage 100% of state and municipal social service organizations in productivity improvement efforts by 2030, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Sport and the Federal Scientific Center for Physical Culture and Sports.
The main goal of the project was to improve labor productivity and the efficiency of workflow management at sports facilities. The project team conducted an assessment of the planning and service delivery process at the facilities and developed an improvement plan aimed at optimizing this process.
Mikhail Smolkin and Marat Salikhov, directors of DVVS and Burevestnik, presented the results of the project to Azat Sharapov, First Vice-Rector of Volga Region University and the university's project manager. They emphasized that, over the course of two months, information on official websites had been updated and updated, a content plan for social media had been developed, a unified workflow for administrators and sales staff had been developed, navigation inside and outside the facilities had been simplified, and improvements had been made to the Mobifitnes mobile app.
According to them, visitor feedback is regularly collected, and the number of satisfied visitors has increased by 12.5% at DVVS and by 21% at Burevestnik, while the processing time has decreased by 59% and 21.4%, respectively.
"Today, our facilities are demonstrating high traffic and revenue figures. The work has been worthwhile, but we won't rest on our laurels," emphasized Azat Sharapov, assessing the reports.
He also noted that the project's implementation experience could prove valuable for training highly qualified sports management specialists currently studying at Volga Region University, especially those already working at the university's facilities.
Lyudmila Podtyagina, Deputy Head of the Industry Competence Center for Physical Culture and Sports, expressed gratitude to the management of the Volga Region University's DVVS and Burevestnik swimming pool, as well as to the staff of Volga Region University, for their productive work.
"It's incredibly valuable to know that your team demonstrated great cohesion, organization, and energy. And most importantly, it was very effective—you achieved 100% of your planned targets.
It's nice that, as the project manager, I wasn't involved in organizational matters. This further underscores the strong management system at Volga Region University, where every employee understands their responsibilities and functions. I haven't seen such proactiveness and engagement on this project to date," she shared, addressing the meeting participants.
