Students from the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism will meet with Alexey Talai, a member of the Belarusian National Paralympic Team and a Master of Sports in swimming. The event will take place on January 26.

Alexey Talai is not only a motivational speaker but also the initiator of the large-scale international project "Living Memory of Grateful Generations," which aims to preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War. This unique grassroots initiative helps honor the heroic deeds of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War. As part of the project, a fund of retired USSR coins is being established for subsequent remelting and the creation of monuments to the soldiers who liberated them.

During the meeting at the University of Sports, Alexey Talai will also be presented with retired coins (Soviet coins, as well as any coins not in official circulation). The collected coins will be donated to the common cause of creating "Living Memory of Grateful Generations" monuments in Minsk, Brest, and Moscow.

Anyone – faculty, staff, and students – are welcome to join the campaign and bring coins no longer in circulation. Current coins and banknotes are also accepted and will go toward funding the installation of the monuments.

Coin collection at Volga Region University is available at the Department of Social and Educational Work, room E302, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, January 19–23.
