The Department of Information Systems and Phygital Sports at Volga Region University, together with the college, participated in the 12th All-Russian Mathematical Flash Mob, "MathCat: A Mathematics Test for Adults and More." The event provided an opportunity to test mathematical skills in a fun game format.

This is the second year in a row that Volga Region University has hosted this large-scale project. This year, approximately 100 students participated, eagerly solving the problems. Following the flash mob, all of them received certificates confirming their commitment to self-improvement.

A unique feature of the event is the choice of difficulty levels – from the simplest "white" to the advanced "red," allowing everyone to join in, regardless of skill level.

"I thought the flash mob was a unique way to revisit my high school and university mathematics lessons. What I remember most was the atmosphere—not like an exam, but like an interesting group puzzle. As for the difficulty, I really liked the multi-level format. The basic problems were manageable for everyone, but the most challenging ones required a lot of effort.

My impressions were extremely positive. It's clear the event was put together with passion and a love for mathematics. I'll definitely participate in the future. It's a great way to spend time productively and then discuss the solutions with friends at length," shared Vlada Kulgutina, a first-year student at the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism.

Her classmate, Amir Tashtabanov, emphasized that such events help take a break from studying and feel like they're in a different environment, while spending time productively.
