Today, during a working visit, a delegation from Uzbekistan, led by the rector of the Bukhara State University Obidzhon Khamidov and the rector of the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute Bakhodir Mamurov, got acquainted with the infrastructure of the Volga Region University.
A tour of the main building - the educational and laboratory building - was conducted by the first vice-rector Azat Sharapov, introducing the guests to the modern material and technical base of the university.
First of all, they were introduced to classrooms and lecture theaters, where future specialists can analyze professional cases using photo and video materials. As well as a sports, gym and hall for physical rehabilitation and health technologies, where coaches, instructors and sports methodologists are trained.
Particular attention was paid to the educational laboratory “Training Restaurant”, created within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”. Here, students from the University’s Center for the Development of Human Resources in the Tourism Industry, who come from all over Russia, improve their skills. In addition, it was noted that in the new academic year the university plans to open another laboratory - a training hotel, to develop skills in accommodating tourists.
The guests also got acquainted with the extracurricular life of the university. In a concert hall with 1,200 seats, they watched a video about the history, sports facilities and achievements of the Volga Region University. We also visited student associations where activists can show their talents and interests: a media center for those who are passionate about creating content on social networks, and an e-sports club for those who strive to win in the digital space.
The delegation was especially interested in the Universiade Museum, which includes exhibits not only of the historical student games for Kazan in 2013, but also of other international competitions. The excursion ended with a visit to the Academic Council Hall, where major scientific events and conferences are held.
Let us recall that the cooperation agreement between the Volga Region University and Bukhara State University was signed in July 2023. In addition, Obidjon Khamidov is visiting the Kazan Sports University for the second time.
Strengthening partnerships was also discussed during this visit. Among the proposed measures: joint participation in scientific events and exchange of experience among teachers and students through business trips and general educational programs. On the part of the Volga Region University, Azat Sharapov expressed his readiness to support these initiatives, since similar experience is already being implemented with some partner universities.
"You gave us a very good tour, complementing my 2023 visit," Obidjon Khamidov thanked. "The goal of our visit today is to renew our cooperation with renewed vigor. We are ready to exchange experiences in sports, education, and tourism."
The working meeting concluded on a warm note: representatives of the Volga Region University were invited to visit Bukhara State University.
