Flu vaccination was held on 10 September at Volga Region University - faculty, staff and students took part.
Before the vaccination there was a compulsory examination by a general practitioner - all those who wished were vaccinated, as no contraindications were found in anyone.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections increased by 20 per cent during the week. The risk group includes students, people from professional risk groups in the spheres of education and medicine, people over 60 and people with chronic diseases.
Only 75% of vaccinated people in each collective will prevent group outbreaks of infection, and vaccination of 60% of the population will avoid an explosive increase in the incidence of the disease.

‘We will continue to work on flu prevention - we plan to vaccinate college students,’ said Alfiya Badrutdinova, head of the department of health protection organisation. - Vaccination is still the most effective method of fighting flu, so it is necessary to protect the body’.
