The Tatarstan Republican regional association “Special Olympics of Russia”, as part of the project of the inclusive family club “Our Health”, together with second-year students of the department of adaptive physical education and students of the Volga University College, held a physical education and health event “The Great Miracle - Family”. The “Our Health” project is being implemented with grant support from the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan with the aim of developing civil society.
The holiday was organized using physical education technology with a plot-role orientation. Specialists from the republican department and student volunteers prepared the fairy tale “Turnip” for children with mental disabilities, in which the children and their parents walked through the plot along with the main characters and helped the fairy tale find a happy ending.
By joining forces, the festival participants managed to pull out the turnip and receive a large amount of positive emotions. The organizers also successfully completed their other task - to unite families.
"The Department of Adaptive Physical Education regularly organises field trips, and now we are also helped by college students who are studying adaptive physical education. We try to familiarise them with the profession as early as possible. Despite their debut, the students coped well and, judging by their impressions, they realise how important it is for them, - Nikita Tsukhlov, senior laboratory assistant of the Adaptive Physical Culture Department, shared. - After the event we talked to the parents to get to know each other better and tell them about Volga Region University and its opportunities in the field of adaptive sports. The most valuable thing for us is to see how happy children are when they and their families can be a part of such festivities".
