The opening event of the educational programme of the Healthy Environment in May was a meeting of the group leaders and deputy leaders of the study groups. During the meeting, which was attended by 60 people, those who had made a great contribution in a number of areas in their groups were recognised and awarded with letters of appreciation.
Then a case game was played, consisting of situations that can happen in any group. Participants explored possible solutions and also got to know each other in a playful way, discussing the main problems and sharing their experiences.
A lecture on the prevention of corruption in a student environment then opened the door. The guest speaker was Elina Zufarova, Head of the Anti-Corruption Programme of the Creative Youth Academy of the Republic of Tatarstan.
During the lecture students of all institutes, teachers and staff learned about their rights, including the right to receive a scholarship, the right to reinstatement and transfer from paid to free education. The students were also introduced to the duties of the students, including compliance with the statutes of the educational institution, timely and full acquisition of study programmes and compulsory self-study of disciplines. The speaker presented the definition of corruption using simple and comprehensible examples and also noted that our university has a student anti-corruption committee to which students may address questions and appeals.
As part of the lecture, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the anti-corruption poster competition. Memorable gifts were awarded to: Polina Bekutova, Victoria Suvorova, Angelina Yeremina, Arina Maturina, Luiza Haidarova, Yasmina Nafikova, Ivan Perekrestov and Vadim Tsvetkov. The winners' works will be sent to the city's anti-corruption poster competition at the Kazan Mayor's Office to be presented by the Volga Region University.
The final educational event of the Healthy Environment was a lecture on "Anxiety as a factor of emotional discomfort". The speaker was Pavel Zinoviev, a psychological health counsellor at our university.
During the lecture he gave the definition of the concepts of "anxiety" and "anxiety state", and considered the nature of the origin of anxiety as a factor of body excitement.
As the age of 18-25 is a period of identification, evaluation and revaluation of the self, this issue received a great response from the student audience:
"The topic is very relevant because quite often stressful situations arise that can cause anxiety and anxious states. At the lecture we received information on several ways to manage this negative emotion", first-year student Arina Bogomolova shared her impressions.
