On the eve of Gabdulla Tukay birthday, foreign students of the Volga Region University took part in the competition of reciting poems "Tukay in our hearts", organized by the Kazan National Research Technological University together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Volga Region University was represented by Dulsey Saavedra Sarita Mayred, Orobio Torres Laura Sofia and Restrepo Caro Laura Isabel representing Colombia, as well as Mohammed Khajavi from Iran.
“We offered the guys to participate, and they immediately agreed,” shared Alsu Galimzyanova, a leading specialist of the international cooperation department, who prepared students for recording videos for the competition. “They have only been studying Russian for five months, and now they have had to get acquainted with another, completely new language. The process of studying poetry and its meaning was very interesting for the students - for them it is a great opportunity to immerse themselves in another culture.”
