Student government elections continue at the University of Sport and Tourism, with the students electing the new student council of the dormitory on 19 April.

At the beginning of the meeting, Renata Zakirova, ex-chairperson of the student council of the dormitory, made a report on the events held, including the Final Four in football and volleyball, Watermelon Day and dancing day, and also noted the great contribution to the settlement of first-year students.

"We've had a volunteer fire service for a long time," Vladislav Buzunov, Deputy Head of the Universiade Village, said in his welcoming remarks. - I would like the new composition of the Student Council to take this into consideration first of all. In general, I hope that all candidates elected today will realise their ambitions and improve life in the dormitory.

Polina Bekutova is in charge of Building 27 and Anna Zhivochenkova was re-elected in charge of Building 28. In their speeches the candidates especially emphasised the help to first-year students in settling in and the initial stage of living in the dormitory. Two candidates, Vasil Galeev and Artur Maksutov, ran for the position of house number 29. As a result, Vasil Galeev took over the position and Timur Sultanov became responsible for Building 30. The candidates presented ideas for events to be held in the future.

One candidate, Yasmina Nafikova, ran for the post of dormitory media manager. Her election campaign highlighted the introduction of new columns, quality coverage of the Universiade Village events and strengthening of social media outreach. Two candidates, Viktoria Tsiplyayeva and Irina Korneenko, ran for the position of the secretary of the student hostel council. Irina Korneenko won the vote.

Four candidates - Anastasia Novikova, Valeria Mainagasheva, Ilnar Nafikov and Albert Khamiev - ran for the position of dormitory sports manager. They proposed events to be held in the future, among them many new to the university: win the flag, lapta and a snowball competition. Anastasia Novikova won by a vote. There was one candidate - Rail Vafin - running for the post of dormitory student council chairman. The position of Creative Dormitory Manager attracted five candidates this year - Danil Varlamov, Kamilla Ziyangirova, Eleonora Gontarenko, Arina Fadeeva and Nikita Minyakov. In their speeches, the candidates proposed creative activities and expressed their readiness to implement them. Kamilla Ziyangirova won the vote.
