The Russian Koresh Championship, which took place from 2 to 4 December at the Ak Bars Wrestling Palace, came to an end in Kazan. The championship was attended by 170 athletes from 37 regions of Russia. Wrestlers competed in ten weight categories from 60 kg to over 130 kg.
President of the Koresh Federation of Russia Jaudat Minnakhmetov, Minister of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, Rafis Burganov, Rector of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, Andrey Slushayev, chairman of the Russian Spartak Federation, Yusef Jehan, managing director of Majestik Airlines, Igor Nikolenko, president of the Moscow Koresh Federation and Marid Mutalimov, Olympic bronze medallist, member of the presidium of the International Koresh Federation, became honoured guests of the Championships' solemn events.
"We are slowly approaching the end of the 2022 sports year. Together with the Koresh Federation of Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan we have held more than 20 national wrestling competitions this year, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to these events for the excellent organisation and running of the tournaments. I would like to thank Dzhaudat Minnakhmetov of the Russian Koresh Wrestling Federation for the development of the national wrestling in Russia, in the Republic of Tatarstan and outside our country. Your daily work makes the national Koresh wrestling more and more popular and this year new names have been added to the ranks of wrestlers.
I am sure that the tournament will be held at the highest level and that everyone will be able to show their best results. I wish all the competitors fair duels and good mood, so that your sporting season ended without injury and leave only happy memories!
After the solemn ceremony, the final bouts started. According to the results of the tournament the champions of Russia were:
60 kg weight category - Alexey Abramov (Tatarstan)
Weight category 65 kg - Ilnaz Dimiev (Tatarstan).
Weight category 70 kg - Rafael Bildanov (Tatarstan).
Weight class 75 kg - Dinar Karimullin (Tatarstan).
Weight class 80 kg - Danil Khairiev (Udmurtia).
85 kg weight class - Ranis Galimullin (Tatarstan).
Weight class 90 kg - Ilmir Tukhvatullin (Tatarstan).
100 kg weight class - Eldar Khamitov (Tatarstan)
Weight class 130 kg - Radik Salakhov (Tatarstan).
Weight category over 130 kg - Ranis Ghilyazetdinov (Tatarstan).
