Silver medalists of the Spartakiad of the Union State among students "We choose sport!" became swimmers of the Volga University of Sports and Tourism. 270 students from universities of Russia and Belarus took part in the competitions, which were held in Volgograd. The Spartakiad program included four types: athletics, swimming, darts and mini-football.
Two swimmers of the University of Sports and Tourism climbed the podium in the individual competition. Third-year student Dmitry Salamashko won bronze in the 200 m individual medley, fourth-year student Semyon Prozorov closed the top three in the 100-meter freestyle.
Thanks to the average results of the other team members, the Volga Region University team rose to the second step of the podium. The team also included Anastasia Levchenkova, Kristina Lebedeva, Ekaterina Maisheva, Ekaterina Chebotareva, Ilya Protsky, Alexey Fedoseev.
Students of the Belarusian University of Physical Culture took the first place in the team competition, swimmers of the Belarusian National Technical University took the third place.
