The men's football team of the Volga University took third place in the semi-finals of the All-Russian Division.
The third semi-final tournament of the All-Russian Division of the National Student Football League of the 2022 season took place the other day in Ulyanovsk. Teams from NGPU (Nizhny Novgorod), USATU (Ufa), PGUFKSiT (Kazan), UU(T)OR (Ulyanovsk), Moscow State Pedagogical University (Saransk) and PSU (Penza) took part in the competition.
In the first match, the university team lost with a score of 1-2, and in the remaining two games, the University of Sports confidently beat the opponent.
“I think that our advantage was in the class of players, but it was the lack of teamwork that did not allow us to achieve the desired result,” team captain Radis Sabirov commented on the result of the semifinal stage. - Before the championship there were regular trainings, we prepared, we successfully played several friendly matches. Unfortunately, not everything turned out to be realized, we are dissatisfied with the result.”
