At the beginning of October the renewed men's basketball team of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism played their first home games of the regular season in the championship of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The first game against KNITU-KHTI turned out to be a shambles for the visitors. The final score of the meeting was 133-49. "The opponent was less experienced, that's why it happened that way. I think the game against UNICS-DUBL will be much more interesting, as they play at a different level," University of Sport player Mark Zheltyakov shared after the match.
The second game of the tournament turned out to be more difficult for the university team. Basketball players of the Agrarian University imposed resistance, but the KSAU team failed to turn the tide of events. The victory for the owners of the site - 89:83.
The next match of the championship of the Republic of Tatarstan will also be held in the sports hall of the Educational and Laboratory Building on October 10 at 19:00 against KFU.
It is worth noting that 8 men's teams will play in the tournament, divided into two groups. In the first one - KSAU, KFU, PGUFKSiT, and KNITU-KHTI, in the second - KTK, KSEU, KNITU-KAI and UNICS-DUBL. Last season, Volga Region University took bronze medals.
