Team Championship of Russia in all-round events was recently held in Sochi, at the "Yunost" stadium. The strongest athletes of the country competed in 7 and 10 kinds of all-around events.
Fourth year student of Volga Region University of sports, Yulia Sokhatskaya, was one of the season leaders and won the highest medal. Julia showed the best results in 100m hurdles - 14.20 sec, long jump - 6.06m and 800m - 2.19.92. She also finished other disciplines (high jump, shot put, 200m dash and javelin throw) in the top-five. She scored 5482 points in each event, which once again shows the excellent functional readiness of the athlete and confirms the title of Master of Sports of Russia she had previously received. The closest pursuer Elena Ermolina, representing the Krasnodar Region and the Republic of Adygea, is on the second place with a difference of 78 points, her score was 5404.
Sophia Miroshnichenko, a graduate student of the University of Sports in these competitions took 11th place (4294), 124 points separated the athlete from the top 10. The strongest event in this all-around at Sofia was a high jump of 1.76m - the 8th result among the women.
According to the results of the championship, Tatarstan's all-around athletes won silver. The team consisted of Yulia Sohatskaya, Lilya Akhmetgareeva, Yana Ugolnikova, Ramilya Valitova, Karina Akhmetova and Sofia Miroshnichenko.
