The Greco-Roman wrestling competitions within the framework of the VIII All-Russian Universiade have ended in Ulyanovsk. The team of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism took four medals of the tournament and became the fourth in the team competition.
Khairutdinov Mintimer became the silver medalist (weight category – 130 kg), Linar Sadykov (55 kg), Azat Mukhametgaleev (60 kg) and Dmitry Vasilenko (63 kg) won bronze.
Meanwhile, volleyball competitions among women's teams are taking place in Salavat. The university team beat the teams of Dagestan University (3:0) and Moscow Pedagogical University (3:0), but lost to the Siberian University of Physical Culture (0:3) in the group stage and reached the quarterfinals from the second place. The rival of the university for reaching the semifinals will be the team of the Ural University of Physical Culture. The matches will be held tomorrow.
