Rector of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Rafis Burganov met with representatives of the organization "Business Women of Tatarstan".

During the meeting, the president of the organization Liana Bagaveeva thanked the rector of the university for the reception and noted that the beautiful half of the business community would like to get to know the university's capabilities better.

Rafis Burganov told the guests about the history of the university, as well as about the activities and opportunities of the Universiade heritage. The Rector noted that the main function of the university is, of course, educational activity. But the pandemic period taught us to be open to the market.

"We value what we have and try to be as open as possible. Today, the university is the largest hotelier and restaurateur. We have learned to feed 3,500 people at a time. For the second year, training camps of Moscow athletes have been held at our base.

Our facilities are aimed at any age. All the university facilities are high-tech, and this suggests that we need highly qualified personnel," Rafis Burganov stressed.

According to the rector, interest in the sports university is growing every year. For example, this year the Rowing Sports Center is the training base for the Russian rowing team. The university is also interesting for athletes because they can gain knowledge without breaking away from training and competitions. There are only 6 video conferencing halls at the university. Students can connect from anywhere in the world to join classes.

During the meeting, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Digital Transformation Adelia Pavlova told about the programs operating at the university, as well as about the areas of training of specialists.

"The University today is the largest event tourism platform in the country. In the first half of this year alone, we received 63,550 people. For comparison, in 2020, 52,000 people visited us for the whole year," she said.

In her speech, Adelia Pavlova spoke in detail about international cooperation programs, about the new integrated sports school, which will begin accepting children in September this year, as well as about the features of the new integrated program for students.

It is worth noting that the integrated training program for small schools in Tatarstan is an excellent opportunity to get an education at the expense of budgetary funds. The program is funded from the budget of Tatarstan (that is, free of charge for the student). After graduating from the university, the graduate is assigned several qualifications at once. He becomes a coach in his chosen sport, a physical education teacher, a teacher of additional education, a teacher of the basics of life safety, an instructor of adaptive physical culture at the same time.

At the end of the meeting, Liana Bagaveeva presented the rector of the sports university with a book about businesswomen of Tatarstan "The Secret of Success".
