Today Kazan honored the winners of the Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk, as well as volunteers who took part in the World student games. Among them, students of the Volga region Academy of sports, Champions of the Universiade Milena Bykova (snowboard) and Vladislav Veselov (hockey), as well as volunteers Anna Belyaeva (supervisor of volunteers of medical services) and Diana Lemesheva (volunteer ceremonies).
It should be reminded that 9 out of 25 athletes of Tatarstan who participated in the Universiade are students of the Volga region Academy. On account of seven of the eight medals of Tatarstan. Including medals of Bykova and Veselov, who participated today in the meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov in the Kazan Kremlin, in the White hall of the Governor's Palace.
Addressing the athletes, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that in Krasnoyarsk they "demonstrated high sports skills, unyielding faith in victory, determination to achieve the goal".
"We are proud of the athletes, coaches who represent Tatarstan on the world stage, and our volunteers," the President said. - Thanks to your results, winter sports receive a new impetus for development in our country.
At the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov presented gratitude of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan to athletes, coaches and volunteers.
Earlier, the Ministry of sport of RT Deputy head of the sports Department of the Republic of Khalil Shaikhutdinov reported that Tatarstan President signed a decree on the cash prizes the winners and prize-winners of the Universiade. Champions of the Games will receive 150 thousand rubles, silver winners – 90 thousand, and "bronze" - 60 thousand.
At a meeting at the Ministry of sports of the Republic of Tatarstan rector of the Volga sports Academy Yusup Yakubov said that the students who won medals in Krasnoyarsk, the University will encourage financially. At the same time, Yusup Digansheevich reminded that athletes-students of the Volga region Academy can count on increased scholarships. But only on condition of good progress.

Addressing the athletes, the rector reminded them that often the way to Olympic awards begins with victories at the Universiade:
 - We are pleased for the performance of our students who represented Tatarstan in the Russian national team in Krasnoyarsk. The guys tried, and in the final unofficial medal standings of universities Volga Academy occupies a leading position. And this is a great success of Kazan and the Republic, as the Academy is a large Republican and Federal educational project. The guys represent the sport of high achievements. In this regard, I would like to remind you that Andrei Larkov, the Olympic silver medalist, won three gold medals at the Universiade in 2015. And these reward turned out for him Olympic.  I would like to wish your careers to develop at the Olympic level. For my part, I would like to note that student sport is developing in the Republic with the support of the government and the Ministry of sports and the Burevestnik society. Almost all universities take an active part in this process, creating a competitive environment.
